1904 Hartford (CT) Factory Base Ball League Championship Trophy

DATE
Year: 1904
Decade: 1900s
Century: 20th (1901-2000)

Hallowed baseball ground due to the importance of the Hartford Dark Blues, a powerhouse of the first professional baseball league–the NAPBBP–and the earliest days of the National League, this Connecticut town recognized amateur supremacy with the presented loving cup.

Gorgeous engraving on the two-handled silver-plated vessel reads, “Champions Hartford Factory Base Ball League 1904, Awarded to Pope Mfg. Co. Base Ball Club, Presented by Gustave Fischer.” Team members’ names are engraved on verso.
