Almanac of Hebrews in Havana

Decade: 1940s
Century: 20th (1901-2000)
Notes: 1944, 46, 50

Six bound volumes of an Almanac of the lives of Hebrews in Havana. The volumes are dated 1944, 1946, 1947, 1949, 1950 and 1951 on the spines and each individual Almanac is dated. They are in Yiddish, not Hebrew as Yiddish was the street language of the Jewish community from Central Europe. Some of the ads include blessings for a Happy New Year in Hebrew, but the text and narrative are in Yiddish. The first volume was issued in 1943.
