Battleship Nagato silk kimono. The back of the kimono has a bold image of the Nagato with airplane above, superbly rendered waves, and more warships and planes on the arms, with gold thread embroidery to give the effect of 3D details.
Accord to Larry Creider, “The Nagato had a long an honorable history and was the only Japanese battleship afloat at the end of the war. She was used as a target in Operations Crossroads in 1946 and sunk as a result of a second bomb. Obviously, she was built very well.”
