Bhagavat Purana Manuscript

Century: 19th (1801-1900)

Persian manuscript on paper. Persian was the court language and was widely used in north India in the Mughal territory, even in the late period. Whether it is Persian or Urdu (written with the same alphabet with minor variations), this manuscript shows that important texts of Hinduism were translated into the language of the local rulers.
