Bull (կոնդակ) from Patriarch Isaiah
According to scholar Haig Utidjian, “I think it is a Bull (կոնդակ) from Patriarch Isaiah, proffering blessings and thanking one Mrs Eva for her voluntary donation.
It seems several such Bulls were given to donors, since it looks as if it is a printed document, with blanks to be filled in, specifying the name of the Patriarch of the day, the donor, the person through whom the donation had been received, and the date.
He starts as follows: ‘From this Holy and glorified city of Jerusalem, adorned by God and of great brilliance, and from all the lands trodden by God of the divine Economy of Christ our God. First, from Holy Nazareth, the holy birthplace of Christ, and from Holy Jordan, the holy baptism of Christ, and from Holy Golgotha, and from the Holy tomb of Christ; and from the holy Mount of Olives, the holy Ascension of Christ, and from the most blessed tomb of the holy Mother-of-God, and from the Upper Room of Simon, and from the holy throne sat upon by Christ and apportioned [there is a better word to render the Armenian վիճակեալ but this is just a rough translation] to the Brother of the Lord, Jacob…'”
