Early Captain Kangaroo 1956 press copy. This original draft by show producer Jack Miller is meant to introduce advertisers to the new show.
Loose typed pages with handwritten notes spell out the basic Captain Kangaroo elements: tone, cast, type of commercials sought, cost estimates, and shooting schedule.
Includes Miller note to CBS president Louis G. Cowan on Keeshan/Miller letterhead. Reads in part ”…let me have your thoughts on this so that we can have it mimeographed and distributed to the sales force…” Additional stapled mock-up version with changes dated November 1956.
