Christian Killings (Nagasaki)

Nagasaki report on the killing of Christians.

According to scholar Peter Kornicki, “The title of this manuscript is Kiyō chawa Jakyō shimatsu (Chat about Nagasaki – dealing with the evil religion). There are quite a lot of copies of this text around, all manuscripts.”

According to scholar Martin Nogueira Ramos, “This manuscript was written around 1868. The first line mentions the church of Oura/Nagasaki (built in 1865 by the French Catholic missionaries). 長崎近在大浦と申す處に仏蘭西天主堂を建立.”
