Propaganda Confederate Covers from the American Civil War: “C.S.A. Our Throne. Cotton defeated Packenham (sic) and cotton will defeat ‘Ape Lincoln.'” The statement, “Cotton defeated Packenham” (sic) refers to the battle of New Orleans 1815, when Andrew Jackson trounced British general Edward Pakenham.
