Civil War Era Abraham Lincoln Folk Art Doll

DATE
Century: 19th (1801-1900)

Civil War era vintage stuffed folk art doll depicting Abraham Lincoln. This may be an “effigy” doll: dolls which were made by passionate opponents of the President, meant to be cast into bonfires at political rallies during the election of 1864. However, given its large size and the extensive effort involved in its making, that seems unlikely.
