Gold Mining Manuscript

This gold mining manuscript has a great 19 page series of illustrations showing the entire process of mining for gold at that time (probably on Sado Island). Other illustrations are of tools to be used in the process.

According to Natsue Hayward, “I wish I could read the writing better but I could see Chichibu (name of the place of the mine). Which is in current Saitama Prefecture closer to Tokyo.”
