Grabar Grammer Text Book

DATE
Year: 1736
Decade: 1730s
Century: 18th (1701-1800)

Grabar grammar textbook by great Armenian poet Paghtasar Dpir (1683-1768).

Sebouh Aslanian, “It is interesting and necessary to remember that Abbot Mkhitar’s pioneering Grammar of the Language of Grabar was published was published in 1730 in Venice. This publication by an important Ottoman-Armenian intellectual Paghtasar Dpir appears to be a simplified grammar of grabar. I wonder how different this grammar is in relation to Mkhitar’s iconic work. It seems to be a watered-down grammar, but just how watered down could it have been.”
