Persian Manuscript with Twenty-eight Miniatures. It appears as a Persian translation of a text of the sect of Vishnu. The triangle contains the Mantra of Vishnu: “OM namo Nârâyanâya.” The first two pages consist in a praise in verses of the sole creator god (Vishnu). The pictures are of Vishnu and devotees, a spiritual master with disciples, one of them being a king.The manuscript is in a tall narrow format Persian on paper. The miniatures are painted in bright colors with gold accents exhibiting Indian/Hindu themes. The palette consists of warm colors, featuring stylized figures created using large blocks of flat color. There are pen-work tracery details added on top. Text is written in fifteen lines per page within a triple-rule border in blue and red ink and diacritical marks in red throughout.
