Jewish Laws from Aleppo

Shulhan Hamelech by Samuel Laniado: this volume contains a collection of halakhot (Jewish laws) which are applicable to the (then) present day, compiled by R. Samuel Laniado (c.1770 – c.1830). The book was published through the efforts of R. Ezra Lofez. The introduction was written by the author in 1804.R. Laniado was the son of R. Shelomo Laniado (which was also the name of his son). He married the daughter of R. Raphael Shelomo Laniado, who was the author of Bet Dino shel Shelomo. When he died, he was eulogized by R. Abraham Sutton, as recorded in his book Malel Le’Abraham.R. Ezra Lofez (1854-1924) taught Talmud Torah and was engaged in printing books from original manuscripts of the scholars of Aleppo. He was a partner with R. Yeshaya Dayan in the management of his printing firm.
