Letter to Carl Haverlin

Decade: 1950s
Century: 20th (1901-2000)

Autograph Letter signed “Lee and Marie” to Carl Haverlin, from Lee De Forest, inventor of the Audion vacuum tube, which made possible live radio broadcasting,( 1873-1961). The letter is on stationery for the Hotel Westward Ho in Phoenix, Arizona, and dated Tuesday, with no year [c. 1950s], excusing himself from a dinner, “we decided it was far more important for me to get back to my work than to attend the big luncheon tomorrow.”
