The Avodah (Hebrew: עֲבוֹדָה, lit. ’service’) is a poetic description of the Yom Kippur Temple service. It is recited as part of the Mussaf service of Yom Kippur, and is often considered one of the most solemn and impressive portions of the Yom Kippur prayer service. Different poems (all sharing the same structure) are recited in different communities, for example Amitz Koach among most Ashkenazi Jews and Atah Konanta among most Sephardic Jews.
Scholar Paul Franks commented, “Although it is true that the Hebrew place name is written in such a way that it would naturally be pronounced “Offibach”, it is in fact “Offenbach” and is written in accordance with the customary dropping of the letter “n” in everyday speech. It was printed by Tzvi Hirsch Segal Spitz of Pressburg and his son Abraham, who took over the press after his father’s death.”
