Japanese Osaka Mint medal issued to commemorate the visit to Japan of Emperor Henry Puyi in 1935. Puyi, the “Last Emperor” of the Qing Dynasty, was established as the puppet emperor of the newly formed state of Manchukuo in 1932, and remained in that position until the end of the war in 1945, at which time he was captured by the Soviet Red Army and kept in Siberia until repatriated to China in 1949. He died in 1967.
