According to scholar Sarah Frederick, regarding the 70th District (Japan and Manchoukuo) of Rotary International – 31 March 1938 fan, “The script on the back of this fan says ‘Just ‘Kitano Kiyoko’ like the romanized name, where she seems to have left off the ‘ko,’ which is not uncommon to do.”
