Rules for Samurai

PRONUNCIATION: Ogasawara Ryu
DATE
Century: 19th (1801-1900)

Japanese scroll set on Rules for Samurai (Ogasawara Ryu).

Scholar Peter Kornicki commented that, “This work on the samurai use of fans bears the title Kun???shū ōgi no maki, the ??? standing for the second character, which I have been unable to find in any dictionaries I have at home. At the end, there is a colophon linking the text with the school of etiquette associated with Ogasawara Nagatoki (1514-1583).”
