Service sheet of the lieutenant Andres Suarez de Veredo, a Nobleman from the Regimiento de Infanteria Provincial of Mexico. He was a soldier that fought the rebels during the war of Independence and served as a spy in the army of Morelos
Printed formulary with manuscript writing. Signed by the Lieutenant Coronel Jose Maldonado and the Coronel Juan Zuñiga Portillo. The soldier´s service sheet specifies that he served for 11 years and that his current health it broken down (“quebrantada”). Divided into:Campaigns and War Actions (Campañas y Acciones de Guerra en que se ha hallado):
• He was under the orders of the captain of dragoons’ faithful to Potosi, Vicente Lara during the attacks of Ajusco, Tlaxcala and Tulumiaque; being him who took three trenches and captured an enemy cannon; by which action was recommended by the Hon. Viceroy to the Sub-Inspector General for the job openings. He took several contusions, including a considerable one in the chest. • On November 30, 1814, he fought in the enemy in the City of Xochimilco dislodging it from there more than three hundred sixty five dragoons, taking them away several guns and other supplies; he commanded the whole action and was recommended by the Hon. Viceroy.• On January 23, 1815, he fought the enemies in Milpa Alta, uprooting them from their camp, he burned it and made the prisoners, who were sent to the superiority … by that action he was thanked by the Hon. Viceroy.• On December 1, 1813, he fought the rebels in the city of Xochimilco, 60 of them, who were looting, and made six prisoners taking up their arms and horses.• On May 30, 1815, he was in the attack of San Francisco de los Ranchos and of the town of San Mateo, under the command of the Captain of the Regiment Line of, Zamora Don Juan Amandi, where he behaved with extraordinary courage, and he captured one leader and 11 rebels.Personal achievements:• Contributed by his own expense with 30 uniforms for poor Realistas soldiers• On October 26, 1813 he was commissioned by the Hon.
