A 15th century Khatchkar (stone cross), a typical cross found on the walls of buildings in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem left by Armenian pilgrims. It says, “Let this cross be as an intercessor for Oskan, Hambari,Varekin, Grigorin.”
Professor Nersessian translated the inscription to read, “Let this cross be an intercessor for Oskan, Hambari, Varekin, Grigorin.”
The large initials in the four circles around the cross say, “Lord,” “God,” “Jesus” and “Christ” in abbreviated form. Two smaller Greek style crosses on lower sides of large cross.
