The check is signed by P.W. Smith, bank manager and is stamped on the front in red. The check bears the stamp of October 26, 1881, the day of the famous street fight near the O.K. Corral involving the Earp brothers, Doc Holiday, and McLaury brothers and Billy Clanton. Hawkins, Boarman and Company were wholesale dealers in wines, liquors, oils, and cigars.
