Visualization Rituals for Matrika Goddesses Scroll

DATE
Notes: 18th or early 19th century.

The texts concern visualization procedures for the Matrika goddesses for the guardians of the cardinal directions etc. The miniatures mostly depict the various forms of the goddesses and the propitiation of demons by offerings. The last miniature shows the eight animals associated with the cardinal directions. The diagrams are mostly yantras and visualization aids. The wooden cover has been anointed with sandalwood paste during the use of the book in rituals.
